Sælebot og hugfred

henta fjellets frende.

Dovrefjell vart stova,

Snøhetta ny himling.

Høg var himmel over,

om låg tjørn og hamrar.

Rundt var utsyn vide,

veret klårt og siktbart.

Berget hadde lokka,

lenge på sin frende.

Bør vart lagt på ryggen,

radt i fjell vart veg.

Ferdamannen stogga,

stilla buet sette.

Strevet dreiv av garde,

grunn vart rudd for kvile.

Soul's restorement and peace in mind

the mountain's friend got.

Dovrefjell became the living room,

Snøhetta the ceiling.

High was the sky over,

around lay tarn and hills.

The view around was wide

through fresh and clear weather.

The mountain had been calling

for a long time upon his friend.

A load was mounted on the back,

straight into the mountain was made a way.

The wanderer stopped

the quietness settled.

The struggle drove away

the ground was cleared for peace.

The edge of which Snøhetta is a part. (Do you se the person on the left top?)

Frenden - den gamle

venta - som før.

Mangt var annleis

enn det som mintest.

Bratt var berget

bortom ura.

Lang var stigen,

strid å fara.

Venskap kunne

formast atter.

Vørnad måtte

visast i røynd.

Møtet ville

minnast i tid.

Soga skulle

skrivast som ny.

The old friend

waited - like last time.

Much was different

from the memories.

The moutain was steep

behind the cairn.

The path was long,

a struggle to walk.

Friendship could

be shaped again.

Respect had to

be shown in reality.

The meeting would

be remembered in time.

The story should

be written as new.
